Dr. Kelly Wacker

Dr. Kelly Wacker is an Professor of Art and coordinates the Art History minor. She received the B.A. in Art History from Colorado State University in 1989, the M.A. in Art History from Bowling Green State University in 1993, and the Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Louisville in 2002. In 2010, she was named University Scholar and was nominated for the CASE Professor of the Year award sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

Wacker teaches courses on art historical topics from the nineteenth-century through contemporary periods. Her special interest is in Land Art, ecologically oriented art, and the intersections between art, art history, and natural history. She has wide-ranging interests and has edited an anthology, Baroque Tendencies in Contemporary Art (Cambridge Scholars Press, 2007) and curates exhibitions including The New Naturalists for Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis and Range, Furrow, Grove: Images of Florida Agriculture for Florida State University.
