The 2nd Annual Hyatt Piano Competition
Date: November 18 (Saturday), 2023
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: LeBaron Recital Hall, University of Montevallo
Eligibility: The Hyatt Piano Competition is open to pianists in grades 9 through 12.
Application Fee: $65 (non-refundable)
Application Deadline: October 9, 2023
Awards:
- 1st Place: $500 and Hyatt Piano Scholarship
- 2nd Place: $200
- 3rd Place: $100
- The first-place winner from the previous competition cannot participate in the following year’s competition.
- Winners must participate in Winners’ Concert on December 2 (Saturday), 2023 at 2 p.m.
Repertoire Requirement:
- Select compositions (2-3) from at least two contrasting periods of music:
- Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic or Contemporary
- Memorization is required for all the pieces.
- Maximum performance time is twenty minutes.
- Order of program is determined by the student.
